Before our snowboard travels last winter, I scoured the internet and stores for the perfect fleece. If there's one thing people know about me, it's that I HATE being cold. Naturally, finding that perfect fleece became somewhat of an obsession, friends sending photos and links of fleeces via text and DM. While there are a lot of good options, my general rules are it has to be soft, but not stuffy—breathability is everything, functional, but also cute.
There are obvious classics like the Patagonia Re-Tool Snap-T. I have it in two colors and the quilted version that I wore in Tahoe. BUT something about this Abercrombie asymmetrical snap fleece in white and blush contrast puts it at the top of my pile. Luckily for you—and also for me because I'm going to buy it in the gray/black combo—it's back in stock this season.
Abercrombie & Fitch Asymmetrical Snap-Up Fleece
I'll say it again: I love a good fleece. It's a year-round go-to, which is why I own a variety of styles and colors.
Fleece is perfect in the summer with shorts, in the fall with jeans, or snuggled up with yoga pants by the fire after a snowboarding session in the winter.
Despite my distaste for the cold, I actually look forward to the weather getting a little chillier—although this October in NJ, it's been in the mid-70s—because a pullover fleece and shorts are the best thing to grab when you're awake at 5 AM to check the surf but still want to look cute. Although, I tend to still look like a gremlin. It's my resting—I should be sleeping—bitch face. You can actually get a surf report from my varying degrees of gremlin expressions. 5 AM no waves is a 10/10 on the gremlin scale, or as we call it at our house, "gremmin' hard." You can figure out the rest. If you don't surf, and you have no idea what I'm talking about, you can still shop my look. AND you can see my Gremlin face here documented on my Instagram for the world to see.
If you're looking for a cute way to navigate this confusing weather we now call "changing of the seasons," a fleece is worth picking up. This is especially true when you're short on time or short on luggage space. Whether you go for the classics or something a little unique like this asymmetrical snap-up, you'll be happy you did.
