One of my all time favorite closet essentials, the Free People Voile and Lace Trapeze Slip, is back for the season, and I'm shouting it from the rooftops (specifically the cliffside of Santorini). This is my go-to favorite tunic top paired perfectly with some salty, Mediterranean air.
Before I dig into my outfit, let's make something perfectly clear: I'm 100% terrified of heights. Don't be fooled. I mean, TERRIFIED!! As in, I have a little mini meltdown every time I'm up high or anywhere even remotely near the edge of a cliff. I've been known to literally chew on my lens cap before getting out of the car to shoot. In retrospect, this makes me rethink a) where I travel, and b) the activities I do...mostly snowboarding because holy shit, that lift can take you really high! I guess you gotta live on the edge sometimes (please forgive me for that bad pun, but I can't help myself #sorrynotsorry).
With that in mind, I feel, and still feel, every person who visits Santorini has to take at least one cliche photo atop a roof. So here you have it — at least I'm well dressed for the photo. My outfit may be easy breezy, but my attitude is most definitely not...as in, I'm mid-internal panic mode in some of these photos, and sadly for me, there's no lens cap to chew on, ha!
When it comes to this top, don't be thrown off by the word slip. It's most definitely a tunic. Wear it with distressed jeans, like I did in Greece, or boyfriend shorts. Transition it into fall by throwing on a cardigan or wear it as a slip with a loose-fit sweater to keep it cozy all winter long.
As a Jersey girl, I love any piece of clothing that transitions from season to season, especially a piece that can look different depending on how you layer it. I love it so much that I have it in both lilac and black, and I'm jones-ing to get it in marigold. How many colors is too many to own? Run, don't walk to pick up this staple before it sells out again!
