I wake up some mornings and say, “I have nothing to wear” to a closet full of clothes. But, what I really mean to say is that I can't find anything to wear for the person I feel like being in this moment, in this day, because let's face it: Variety is fun, and basic is boring (even though I can be a very #basicbitch).

When I say, “I have nothing to wear,” I quickly repeat to myself with a strong eye roll, “How do you spend $$$ every month buying clothes, and yet continue to struggle daily with finding something to wear?” Maybe the answer is not enough coffee, but I think the answer is also not enough basic, versatile items with a twist.

With that, I give you my wardrobe essential: harem joggers

Outfit Details: BP Harem Joggers (similar here), BP Rib Knit Bodysuit (on sale $17.40), Frye Terri Mules, Kate Spade Sunglasses

At first glance, and also once I was wearing them, I had an absolute, MC Hammer moment. So much so that I’m not afraid to admit I did an MC Hammer dance move at my birthday dinner.

Harem joggers have a sweats vibe, but they create a sophisticated look depending on what you pair them with. You can easily transition these harem joggers from summer sizzle into pumpkin season. The best part is that picking up a bodysuit like this one, coming in under $30, means an updated look to your basics on a budget.

If you’re not a bodysuit gal, or you don’t own one, pair your harem joggers with a basic tee or tank and your favorite mules or dressed up sandals. In which case, you’ve got a new look for under $30.

In the words of MC Hammer, “U Can’t Touch This.”
